Fast and sweaty psych-punk from Canada's North
What do you get if you combine a Backstreet Boys fan on the drums, a classically trained vocalist and composer on the bass, and an accomplished metal bass player on the guitar? Fleabane: a psych-punk power trio, obviously.
Fleabane draws their influence from across the music world, and with over 40 years of combined playing and recording experience, their live shows are frantic and captivating. Since forming in 2024, they've played their original fast and sweaty punk around the Yukon including the Dawson City Music Festival, Available Light Film Festival, Porchella, opening for Vancouver's Space Queen and Bison, and slinging greasy breakfast and a 10 am setlist to audiences at Keno Fest (the festival organizer endorsed this performance, claiming “I don’t give a f#$% what happens in the parking lot”). Fleabane shows are frantic and relentless, drawing on costumes, props, lighting, and visual effects to draw people in and keep them there. Fleabane’s first album is in the works, with release slated for later in 2026.
Whether or not you’re a fan of bands like Tame Impala, The Mars Volta, Kyuss, or The Queens of the Stone Age, check out a Fleabane show near you. Or even better, go stick it to the man, wherever he is.
